Crankworx – The Ryan Leech Trials Show

Today was technically day 4 of the 2010 Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival, but it was also day one for the Ryan Leech Trials Shows. With a dozen or so shows happening this week, the first two were today. With an all-new setup for the demo, check out some photos from today. If you are coming out for any of the festivals check out the show, Ryan is an acrobat on a bike. See more photos at flickr.com/norcobikes

Kicking off the season in Seattle

This weekend is the start of the 2010 event season for Norco at The Seattle Bike Expo. ThisĀ  is an annual event hosted by the Cascade Bicycle Club in Seattle, Washington. The show should draw in excess of 200 exhibitors and thousands of consumers over the course of two days.

If you are in the Seattle area over March 13th – 14th, head on down to the Seattle Cruise Ship terminal and say hello. Norco will be there showing off 2010 bikes, giving away a Norco Hades Bike and Factory Team rider Ryan Leech will be conducting Trials Demonstrations throughout the day.

We’ll hope to see you there!

Norco Demo Day in Blackrock Oregon

What is a better way to ring in the July 4th long weekend than by trying out some bikes? This year, after celebrating Canada day the Norco crew headed south to Blackrock Oregon for a demo day sponsored by the BRMBA. We started this demo last year and there was such a great response that not only did we return, we were joined by Giant, Kona, Felt, Diamondback, Transition, Cove, Evil, Brodie and 5-Ten. What a turnout!

The morning started out at about 9:30AM with a lineup 20 deep. By 10:00 the bikes were all out and people were smiling. The day started off in a flury and as people relayed in and out trying new bikes the general feeling was one of excitement and drooling over the bikes being ridden. With a selection of bikes featuring the Fluid LT, Empire, Vixa, Six, Shore and Aline the trails had met their match. Whether you were riding up and screaming down on the LT or hitting the gaps on the Shore, there was a bike for every person and a bike for every trail.

All day there were three trucks shuttling bikes and people up the mountain. Anyone who has ridden in Blackrock before knows that usually you are hoofing it to the top. What is usually a 1 or 2 run hill was for some people a 5 or 6 run day. Not taking advantage of the bikes, the shuttle and the company would be a mistake for anyone who could have come out but didn’t.

The day at Blackrock was probably the largest western Demo in a mountain biking environment. 2010 will undoubtedly be even bigger so mark your calender and will will we waiting for you next year.

Where we have been and where we will be

This is the time of year where we are busy preparing for the 2009 event season. Over the past few months at Norco HQ we have been analyzing the successful events of 2008 and looking where to go in 2009. This past year you could find the Norco trailer at events such as Seattle Bike Show, Sea Otter, Crankworx, and VPS Fest. We also conducted demo days across Canada and into the Western US. For 2009 you can expect to see us at all these major events along with demos in Washington and California, increased race support and tech support for the Ride to Conquer Cancer. Watch for the full 2009 event schedule to be released soon.

Do you have an event in your area that Norco should attend. Comment on this post to start the wheels in motion.

See you at the events,
