Mislav, Calling in From Overseas

Hey Everyone, I just came from a tour around Croatia,..

First I went 2hours away from my home to Slovenia Trzic to ride some dirt for a day,…It was perfect day and riding was so fun.
Had to go home fast because next day was Red Bull X-fighters Jam in Bosnia and Herzegovina in town Banja Luka,..My friends and I had a demo jump show before a FMX show and in the half time !

It was awesome,.. thousands of people and best crowd ever! They where running beside me while I was riding towards jump ! After the show we went strait to bed because next day we woke up at 6 and went strait to Hungary for a Balaton Bike Fest- Monster Energy Dirt comp !

Soon as we arrived there, we putted our gear on and went for a training. Qualification started and we had 3 runs 2 count !
My run was: super indian first jump 360 tabletop second, wallride and hip whip. Second run was Super flip, 360 x-up, tuck no hands and tailwhip the quoter. Third run was indian seat grab, 360 tailwhip-fall,..wallride, tuck no hands,…
It was enough and I finished on 9th position,..I was in Finals!

Next day! Finals!

I was super relaxed and went for a training,..did my runs in training and Finals started:
First run : barspin drop, superindian, 360 tabletop, wallride, hip whip,
Second run : super flip, 360 x-up, tailwhip on the hip,..
Third run: Superflip, tailwhip, wallride, tuck no hands, tailwhip the qouter.
Best trick run: I did Backflip super can indian, but another guy won it with 360 double tailwhip.

It was great, I was in one piece!

Finished on 6th position, got a medal ! :)

Went home and tomorrow heading to Pitomaca for another DEMO JUMP SHOW !

Cheers

Mislav

Rocking the Forest on a BMX

This spot is one that I have been wanting to ride for the longest time but has been one of the Ottawa regions best kept secret’s. The spot originally found and concealed by a few local Ottawa skateboarders was eventually revealed after a “riding spot” for “riding spot” trade was made to the local BMX riders. 25 minutes outside of Ottawa is this rock quarry with Canadian shield rocks formed from what looks like Glaciers sometime long ago. The Spot is in my eyes deemed a natural bike park. The 25th of May was my 26th birthday so I took the day and my Norco Rev out into the woods to ride these amazing transitions.

Check it out and stay tuned for a shorty Video coming soon!

This coming race season there will a Norco Team DH flying down not only the Women’s World Cup circuit but also the Mens. For 2010 Norco has partnered with Dirt Magazine to create the Dirt Norco Race Team. World Cup racers Ben Reid and Dan Stanbridge will be aboard a Norco through the full World Cup Circuit.

The two members of the 2010 Dirt Norco Race Team, Ben and Dan will travel the world following the UCI World Cup Circuit starting on May 16th in Slovenia all the way to the World Championships at Mt. Norco is extremely excited to have come on as a sponsor for the Dirt Norco Race Team. Over the past years Norco’s World Cup Race Program has made large strides through the sponsorship of Fionn Griffiths and the Norco World Team. The Addition of the Dirt Team is another step forward in proving the Norco Team DH on the world stage. From everyone at Norco we  wish Ben and Dan the best of luck with the coming season and will be there to help everywhere along the way.

Ben Kaufmann riding to Support Stu.

One of the newest additions to the Norco team for 2010 is BMX rider Ben Kaufmann. Most recently Ben was in Montreal at a benefit Jam raising money for a fallen friend.

A few traveling B.C. Riders Held a Benefit Jam this weekend in Montreal at UAB Skatepark. The Jam was to Raise Money For a Rider Stu Timms From Australia that had a bad accident on December 11th, 2009. Stu was at the beach and went to dive into the water and, a very common danger, dove head first into a sandbar. Sadly he has suffered a spinal crush fracture at C5 level and unfortunately has been paralysed from the shoulders down. The Jam was to raise money for Stu and his family. The Jam was super fun and raised a bit of money for the downed rider. There was a best trick over the box jump contest, a best tech trick contest, and a bunny hop contest. Some Crazy Riding went down. One of the best events I’ve been to in a long time. Stay Strong Stu! Here are some photos by Rich Redmond. And More Photos at www.benkaufmann.blogspot.com.
