Dark, Wet and Fun – Norco Bicycles Staff Night Ride
January 13, 2016
by: Pete Stace-Smith, Norco Brand Ambassador
Despite the weatherman calling for 20-40mm of rain late Tuesday afternoon, the keen staff riders at Norco Bikes assembled their gear, got their lights all charged and left work on time in order to get to the meeting spot at 5:30 to go ride – in the pitch dark on trails that were new to most.
12 staff and a few friends came out, a great turn out for the first night ride of the year. Despite the rainy conditions the trails were in great shape. We counted ourselves lucky – how many places in Canada could you be even doing a ride like this in mid January?
It was awesome to have staff from at least 4 or 5 different departments in the building, all there for the same reason – to have some fun!! Also great to see three of our strong women riders out there showing the guys how tough and talented they are. Way to go Kallyn, Sarah and Rachael!
Special shout-out and welcome to a new staff member Mike, and for jumping into his first ever ride in British Columbia. Wow, what an intro… Hey Mike, it does get easier when you can see more than the pool of light right in front of you and you have some idea of where you are riding…
We even had a couple of team riders show up and ride with us, Ryan Leech and Jay Hoots (just in town visiting from Edmonton) proved a little water and darkness wasn’t going to slow them down from having some fun on their Ranges.
