Adrien Loron & Jill Kintner Lead Crankworx King & Queen Points Race
June 20, 2017
Adrien Loron and Jill Kintner are the new leaders in the points race for King and Queen of Crankworx coming out of Les Gets, helped by their victories in the Men’s and Women’s Pump Track Challenge on Friday.
“I have been working hard on my technique and timing to be more precise, so I am glad it paid off. On such a simple course there wasn’t much to separate anyone other than really committing in the turns and working your body. Caroline is a good competitor and I enjoy the challenge she brings for me to compete at my best to win. On a side note, I hope the tracks will evolve to be a little more technical to showcase everyone’s skills.” – Jill
Jill, defending her 2016 Queen of Crankworx title, added a 4th place result in the Air DH and a 5th place finish in the Downhill to help build her 115-point lead over Caroline Buchanan.
Norco Factory Racing competed in the Whip Off and Downhill race before grabbing two top-10 finishes in the Air DH. Sam Blenkinsop was seventh, Joe Smith finished ninth, and Henry Fitzgerald was 26th in the last event of the weekend.
The athletes will head straight to the third stop on the Crankworx World Tour, taking place June 21st-25th in Innsbruck, Austria. Check out the schedule and watch the action live at crankworx.com Photos: Fraser Britton
