The Norco Search XR – Bikepacking in Arizona
December 20, 2017
Looking for a quick escape this winter? You may be inspired to get out bikepacking after reading this adventure journal from Miles at Bikepacking.com. Miles is from Kelowna, and planned a trip to Arizona to escape the rain in Interior BC this fall. His trip coincided with the launch of the Norco Search XR, and since the route he planned – the Fool’s Loop – would conquer a variety of terrain from urban paths to rugged forest service roads and singletrack, he knew that our new adventure gravel bike would be the perfect bike to tackle the challenging route.
The Fool’s Loop is a four to five day, 377-km circuit starting and ending in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. As a must-ride route for bikepackers, it takes riders on an adventure through the Tonto National Forest, to the Agua Fria National Monument and along the famous Black Canyon Trail.
“Following chunky and unforgiving service roads through Tonto National Forest and singletrack along the BCT, this route passes through countless saguaro forests, rugged canyons, and rolling desert plains that are sure to impress visitors and Arizona locals alike.”
