MEET THE ALL-NEW Range Carbon

The all-new Range Carbon is the ideal Enduro rig, purpose-built to rip downhill with category-bending capability. Redesigned around both 650B and 29” wheels, the Range Carbon delivers confidence-inspiring stability and control for serious speed over technical terrain. With updated geometry and improved suspension performance, it climbs efficiently and unleashes its full potential when the trail turns downhill. Race an Enduro, shred gnarly singletrack with friends, or skip the pedaling and do a few laps of the bike park - the Range Carbon is the ultimate accomplice.

Geometry First

THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE DETAILS

Norco engineers obsess over millimeters and every fraction of a degree, because dialed geometry can be the difference between an average ride or an epic experience – between being on the bike, or being at one with it. The 2017 Range Carbon is the latest example of Norco's evolved geometry philosophy, which helps us deliver optimal fit and handling characteristics for every rider – not only for your frame size, but also your preferred wheel size.

650B AND 29”

OFFERING YOU CHOICE WITHOUT COMPROMISE

We redesigned the Range Carbon from the ground up in two wheel sizes, introducing a 29er that has been engineered to have the same fit and nearly identical handling characteristics as the 650B. Whether you prefer the quick acceleration and playfulness of 650B wheels or the improved rollover and momentum of a 29er - the Range Carbon offers riders choice without compromise.

Development

STRONGER, FASTER, BETTER

“We looked at the way Enduro bikes are being used - yes, they’re pedaled to the top, but essentially in an Enduro event they go through four or five downhill races over a weekend. This is a bike that's going to be ridden hard, and we wanted to make it as reliable and dependable as possible. So we took everything we learned from the Aurum DH bike, which is the strongest bike we’d ever made, and employed it on the new Range Carbon.”

– Owen Pemberton, Senior Design Engineer

Our Norco Race Development program is the heart of technological innovation at Norco Bicycles. Through a systematic testing and feedback process, ideas evolve into finished products used to compete at the highest levels of our sport.

Norco-sponsored athletes such as Sam Blenkinsop are key contributors to this process, playing a vital role in the development, testing, and refinement of frame designs. In the end, the trickle-down effects of Norco Race Development make all of us faster.

SAM BLENKINSOP FIRST RACED THE NEW RANGE CARBON 29ER IN AUGUST, WINNING THE FIRST STAGE OF THE WHISTLER EWS.

UPDATED GEOMETRY

AGGRESSIVE AND PROGRESSIVE

The updated Enduro geometry on the 2017 Range Carbon is slightly longer, lower, and slacker, with a steeper seat angle to put the rider in a more forward position for climbing.

OPTIMAL WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION

Gravity tune makes the front center/rear center ratio more consistent across all frame sizes. This means that a large frame will not only have a longer front end, but a proportionally longer rear end than a small frame. This keeps the rider’s weight optimally distributed over the bike, delivering equal ride characteristics and unrivalled control for riders on all frame sizes.

REACH PLUS
AND STACK PLUS

OPTIMAL FIT AND HANDLING

Stem length is incorporated into the bike’s geometry measurements as Reach Plus and Stack Plus to achieve the optimal fit and handling across each wheel and frame size combination. To achieve the desired fit and handling characteristics of the Range 650B, the Range 29er uses a shorter stem, longer top tube and slightly steeper head angle.

AN EFFICIENT PEDALING PLATFORM

Updated suspension kinematics optimized for Enduro riding; more progressive than before to provide more traction early on in the stroke and a more bottomless feel.

Key Features

THE COMPLETE PACKAGE FOR ENDURO RIDING

The dialed spec on the Range Carbon includes everything you’d expect on a modern, purpose-built Enduro rig. Look closer and you’ll find details such as an MRP or One Up chain guide, SDG saddle, and Race Face components that make the Range Carbon feel like a custom build right out of the box.

CUSTOM-TUNED ENDURO FORKS

Fox and RockShox forks with BOOST 110 spacing for increased tire clearance and stiffer wheels. The Range Carbon 650B uses a 170mm fork, while the 29" uses a 160mm fork to offset the characteristics of the larger wheels.

1x drivetrains

All models are equipped with SRAM 1x drivetrains. The 7.1/9.1 and 7.2/9.2 models now have SRAM Eagle XO1 for a wider range of gears.

FOX & ROCKSHOX REAR SUSPENSION

Fox Factory Float X2 (7.1/9.1 models) and RockShox Super Deluxe RC3 (all other models) trunnion-mounted rear shocks with external reservoir.

STEALTH DROPPER POST

More control when you need it, with up to 170mm of travel and a left under-bar lever. Stealth routing eliminates excess cable loop.

CHAIN GUIDE

Prevents dropped chains so you can stay in the saddle, while extending the usable life of your drivetrain.

WIDE RIMS

Wide, tubeless-ready rims provide more traction and increased stability for less tire fold.

FRAME PROTECTION

Integrated frame protection under the bottom bracket, on the chain stay, and inside the seat stay.

WIDE TRAIL TIRES

Optimized for the wider rims to provide excellent braking and cornering action.

WIDE BARS

Wide bars paired with a shorter stem for improved handling
