Coalition Government in Canada–Yes Please!!

Just trying to figure out what this coalition between Liberals and NDP is all about. Turns out it could mean some fantastic things for all Canadians, and as a progressive voter, I want to spread the good word. Please watch this video to make some sense of the situation:

Now go to the the Canadians for a Progressive Coalition website and sign the petition

For further details, check out this message from Elizabeth May of the Green Party.

If you want to do more, the Green Party is in desperate need of funds, especially now that Harper is trying to eliminate federal funding for federal political parties. Click here to donate, even if it's just five bucks! Here's the intro to the e-mail I recieved from the Green Party about the subject of federal funding:

Today Jim Flaherty announced that the Tories will cut the public subsidy to all federal political parties. It is disguised as a response to the economic crisis. It is actually a scheme to destroy Harper's political opponents. It is an assault on fair financing rules brought about through sweeping reforms. These reforms were designed to eliminate the power of Big Money in our elections. Harper wants that power back...

This petition won't take long either, please make the time, and lend your name. If not, corporate interest could blind the Canadian public in future elections. Please click here for the petition!!

Our democracy isn't in full working order, and Harper is  trying use the strong arm which will make it a lot worse (except for the minority of greedy conservatives).  It's bad news all around if we don't act now!

Bio

Name:
Ryan Leech

Nationality:
Canadian

Home Town
Born in Vernon, BC

Residence:
Port Moody, BC

Birth Date:
Feb. 20/79

Website:

Discipline:
Mountain Bike Trials

Best Results:
Won most major comps I entered over the four years I competed. Retired from comps in favor of a more creative style of riding for demos and videos.

Favourite Course:
Well since I don't race, I have to say my fave terrain is Oceanside natural, wave molded rock, and drift logs.

Hobbies:
Woodcarving, yoga, and just hanging out in the sun.

Favourite Tunes:
Always changing, but grooving on the aussie Xavier Rudd right now.

Favourite Movie:
Tough one again, how about Singing in the Rain, this is when actors could act, sing, dance, and do stunts no problem.

Favourite Book:
Just reading a Bill Bryson book right now, great writer. I'm a non-fiction kind of guy.

Inspirations:
Inspired by anyone who is truly having fun and doing what they love for work.

Heard Saying (Quote):
You miss 100% of the shots you never take. (Wayne Gretzky)

What Pumps you up:
Watching smooth, controlled, and dynamic riding.

What makes you mad:
silly little tweaky injuries

What do you do to relax:
rent a movie, or drink tea. Tea is good.

What makes you smile:
seeing youngsters get excited about riding after I do a trials demo

What do you enjoy most about riding for Norco:
well the bikes for sure, but the people I have the opportunity to work with, everyone I know at Norco is stoked on riding! The standards for sponsorship are great. The most important questions I can relate to being sponsored by Norco is "Are you having fun and sharing that feeling with others?"...I love it!!

Anything Else:
Get out there and ride hard, progress at your own pace, ride the way you want to ride; don't get too caught up with results, but instead, just enjoy the learning process, it's all about having fun, ridiculous amounts of fun!
