Name:
Sam J Dueck

Do you have any hobbies outside of cycling? If so what?
I enjoy drawing and playing my electric guitar. I also love to ski and snowboard in the winter time.

Where is your favorite Place to Ride?
My favorite place to ride has always been RGC (road gap city) in Abbottsford. The jumps are nice and big for plenty of hang time for learning new tricks. Also I love riding at my friends Dustin's house not to far from RGC.

Where's your favorite place to travel?
One of my all time favorite places to travel to has to be Whistler. I also went down to Winter park Colorado this last summer to compete in Crankworx and I really enjoyed the experience.

What would you list as a career highlight?
So far my career highlight been getting 2nd place at goat style in Creston B.C. because it was my first real slopestyle competition and ended up getting me further in my mountain bike career really fast.

What has been your best riding experience?
My best riding experience was probably being able to go to Crankworx Colorado. I was able to ride with all the guys that I look up to. It was just a dream come true for me. I was also so stoked on getting 5th place and an invite to Crankworx in Whistler B.C.

And the worst?
My worst experience was when I hit a step up jump. I came up just a little bit too short and my forks snapped! I then went face first, pile driving into the hard and unforgiving dirt.

What band or song have you been listening to the most lately?
I have always loved to listen to Rise Against. They are probably my favorite band. Currently have been listening to Three Days Grace's new Album called Life starts Now.

What are your biggest strengths on the bike?
My biggest strengths on my bike are probably superman seat grabs and 360s off big drops.

Do you have any advice to beginners?
Never give up, always have a goal and stick with it, and mainly just have FUN!

What's your best idea of having good time?
Just chillin out with good friends at the dirt jumps. Riding, goofing around, and taking pictures and videos of each other. After go to McDonalds for some Big Macs!

Why do you ride?
I ride because first it is something that I am good at. Second, it is scary and gets me energized. Third it is a great way to make new friends and visit new and exciting places. And last biking is a sport that does not always have to be competitive.

Do you remember what your first Bike was?
My first Mountain bike was a 2006 Kona Stuff. I had it for about 3 months then it was stolen off my front porch. After that I got a Norco Sasquatch.

What first got you into riding?
My best friend Taylor bought a Norco Big Foot and I though it was the coolest thing ever so I had to get my self a bike too. I also watch Drop-In and I saw all the cool tricks that everyone was doing on a mountain bike I wanted to learn so bad.

Key goals for 2010?
My goals for 2010 are to get top 5 in every competition I enter and maybe even first place. Also I want to get better at all my current tricks and I want to land a back flip 360 by then end of the 2010 season.
