Tuft Wins Silver at Worlds on a Norco CRR
After flatting and Changing bikes on Course, Tuft Finished the World TT Championships this past week riding his Norco CRR SL Carbon.

---

It was a pretty exciting day for Canada here in Italy at the 2008 Road Cycling World Championships. Rob Jones has asked me to write a brief summary of what it was like in the car following Svein for his Time Trial.

Coming off a stellar ride in the TT in Beijing, I knew Svein was going to have a good ride here in Italy. Finishing his warm up in the Canada tent he mentioned to me that he had 'good sensations'. Not the first time I've heard that from him, as he said the same thing in Beijing.

The Dreaded Season Hoots Report
2008 was hands down one of the busiest and gnarliest years for me on all levels. The park building business has grown exponentially, my riding is still radically improving and this old dog is still learning new tricks!

My quality of life and ability to accept people and ever-changing situations has shifted and as the Jamaicans say ‘there are no problems only solutions’ and I have never believed it more.

2008 Shore 1 Review on nsmb.com
Norco introduced its V.P.S suspension design in 1997 and launched its Shore model in 2001. Since then, the frame has undergone some serious changes, starting out as a monocoque design and morphing into hydroformed tubing in 2005. The latest incarnation of the Shore still uses hydroformed tubing, but it has basically been redesigned. It combines some features of earlier models, such as the interrupted seat tube and the Horst Link rear suspension, with a new streamlined and highly sculpted design that is purpose-built for going large in the bike park or your favourite Shore-style trail.

Fluid LT 1 and 2 Review on NSMB.com
I am 155 lbs and 5' 11" and have had over 15 years experience riding bikes in North Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler, the Chilcotins and many other areas in B.C. and Alberta. I've also made many bike trips to Utah, Washington, Oregon, California and Ontario (for example) so I've had some experience biking in a variety of terrain. My bias is towards pedalling up and unlike many people who learned to ride bikes on North Shore trails, I actually enjoy riding (and sometimes bushwhacking) uphill.

Want to know what Ben and Hoots are up to?
As summer draws to a close, kids go back to school, traffic gets heavy and everyone comes back from their holidays , it is also the time that some of the larger film productions are in full tilt giv’r mode for their seasonal launch.

I just finished a big project in Langley and had a couple days to chill when Ben Boyko called looking for help to build a jump complex that he was going to try and include in his New World Disorder segment. What could I say? A teammate and brother called for help…. I signed up and made the drive to the cow patty under the powerlines where some of the earths finest dirt exists, yummy!

New Frame Designs For 2009
The 2009 Norco lineup has some significant advancements that will affect how the bikes ride and how they suit your riding style. modifications such as curved downtubes, clevis redesign, integrated seat clamps and replaceable dropouts are just a few small but significant changes in the 2009 bikes.
alinedt
The 2009 Team DH and Aline models feature a curved hydraformed downtube. This advancement over the previous platform allows for a both a stiffer and stronger frame. Adding concavity to the tube design drastically improves front tire clearance and shifts the center of gravity lower, to a more stable position. Whether you are freeriding with friends, hitting the park or racing DH, the benefits of this new platform will create both a more stable bike and stronger frame.
headtube
For 2009, many Norco frame sets utilize a 1.5”-1.125” integrated headset. This feature is important in keeping the front end low and maneuverable. Through the integrated headset and forged headtube the front of the bike is stiffer and allows for a lower stack height than traditional 1.125” headtubes.
shorestay
For 2009 many Norco suspension frames feature an improved seatstay design. Forged stay clevis', improved tubing and additional brake gussets make these frames stronger and stiffer than ever.

Norco Atomik Review
The Atomik is Norco's entry level downhill bike. With the same frame as the higher end Team DH bike but with lower end components the Atomik allows people who want to give a dedicated downhill bike a try an affordable option. As a downhill bike most of the expensive components are disposable anyway. Despite this, the bike performed well when pointed in the direction of gravity. The geometry and shortened seat post made riding or even small climbs laborious. Good thing that's not what the bike is for.

Double podium down under for Norco World Team rider Fionn Griffiths
Round 7 of the UCI World Cup tour saw riders form all over the globe congregate in Australia’s capital city of Canberra. This weekend’s event took place at Mount Stromlo forest. The name it’s self had given most of the riders a false impression of what to expect. I personally had visualized a forested mountain, however upon arrival it turned out to be a hill with virtually no trees. Apparently three years ago there had been a huge bush fire that wiped out most of the trees on the “mountain” along with the local observatory.
