The Section Aluminum is built for riders who ride all day and are in it for more than the scenery. This aluminum all-road machine is built around big tires and a strong, lightweight X6 butted aluminum with geometry and features that won't let any road interrupt your rhythm. The frame's pedalling efficiency combines with its adaptability to offer riders all-day performance that is engineered to smooth out rough roads so you can keep your head down, and your legs churning out the watts – no matter where you ride.
The days of stiff, punishing aluminum frames are long gone. Thanks to modern frame building materials and techniques, we've engineered curved, bridgeless seatstays with a narrow profile and thinned seat and top tubes so the Section Aluminum can fight off fatiguing vibrations before they get to you. We also spec'd a mid-modulus carbon fiber fork to further reduce the bike's weight and ensure the bike is equally adept at dissipating road shock from both wheels.
The Section Aluminum fits and rides like a road bike – because it IS a road bike, and we made it pedal like one with purposefully designed X6 aluminum tubes that maximize power output. We added 12mm thru-axles and took a good look at head angle, fork offset and trail to create a bike that reacts nimbly on the road, yet surefooted on unpaved surfaces.
The Section doesn't just accommodate 28-35mm tires – it excels with them. We designed this frame from the ground up with features, geometry and clearance to run big tires.
Disc brakes are an ideal choice for the Section. These all-weather flat-mount stoppers provide amazing modulation in a lightweight, clean package that tucks in subtly and unobtrusively into the design, without creating any limitations on tire or fender clearance.
If you're riding fast all day, you need lots of water – so we built the Section to house three water bottles. Additionally, we added low-key fender mounts with clearance for 32mm tires so a little bout of rain won't quash your grand plans.
Every rider out there likes their bike setup a little differently – 1x or 2x drivetrains, Di2 or mechanical shifting, and even a dropper post. With this in mind, the Section Aluminum frame is equipped with internal cable routing that allows cables to run out of harm's way for longer lasting shifting performance and a clean, quiet ride in just about any configuration you can imagine.
