The strong, lightweight X6 aluminum frameset with full carbon fork creates a robust and durable adventure rig. Fatiguing vibrations are dampened by the curved and ovalized seat stays, bent chain stays, thinned seat tube, top tube and optimized fork blade design.
Designed to excel on rougher surfaces, the geometry of the Search XR is a little slacker and longer than conventional road bikes to create a solid and stable ride.
Front and rear 12mm thru axles plus an oversized head tube junction, downtube, BB shell and chainstays deliver lateral stiffness for maximum power transfer as well as control through rough terrain.
One of our design mandates for the Search XR was offering the same ride experience for all riders, regardless of height. We didn't want to compromise on the geometry of the smaller sizes but also didn't want smaller riders to have toe overlap issues. By scaling down the wheel sizes for the 45.5 and 48 to a 650B from a 700c, we can achieve the same angles we do on our larger frames, and guarantee our desired ride quality for all frame sizes. Multiple bottle cage mounts on the frame and fork offer multiple storage configurations turning the Search XR into a versatile adventure bike ready for everything from tackling a gravel grinder to your next bike-packing trip.
Internal cable routing with adaptable port covers keeps cables tight and secure and prevents water from entering the frame. The Search XR Aluminum is also compatible with a wide range of configurations such as 1x or 2x drivetrains in either Di2 or mechanical.
