Drift Mountain Biking is excited to announce Norco Bicycles and Live-to-Play Sports will be supporting the company as a key equipment partner.
Drift Mountain Biking is delivering professional mountain bike instruction across Vancouver Island.  The company is comprised of a core team of instructors who travel to join with local and guest instructors in various communities to deliver lessons, clinics and camps for riders interested in improving their riding skills.
“Norco was our first choice of bike manufacturer to support the business. Having both Norco & Live-to-Play support us ensures we’re equipped with the bikes and brands our staff love to ride and gear we can always rely on to provide the high quality service we are determined to deliver.” says Amanda Ridgway, Founder & Managing Director of Drift.

Diversity in range of bike equipment, trust in the equipment, a positive industry presence and alignment with core values were offered by the business owner as central in the choice to approach the manufacturing giant.
“Whilst we are just starting out, our client base is rapidly growing. We are working with everyone from new riders, families, and avid recreationalists, to endurance riders, dirt jumpers and racers improving their competitive performance.  We need the capacity to teach various disciplines with bikes we trust and Norco has the bikes to do that. We also wanted a company we could grow with and could help guide us to be the best we can be.”
Alignment between the two company’s values was also an important consideration.  Norco is a local company based out of Port Coquitlam and has long-standing contribution to the bike industry with over 50 years of experience.  The company also consistently supports grass roots initiatives, community events, advocacy work and fundraising campaigns such as Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Working with Norco also meant continued partnering with local bike shop, Trail Bicycles in Courtenay as the Norco dealer in the Comox Valley.  Jeff Beeston, owner of the shop, has been a long-standing supporter of Drift, understanding the benefits of a professional instruction service for the Island bike community.  Trail Bicycles act as the company’s home base shop in the Comox Valley providing service and equipment support for the team.  When the company visits other communities, other local bike shops like Arrowsmith Bikes in Parksville, Cowichan Cycles in Duncan and other Norco dealers such as Oak Bay Bikes in Victoria assists the team.
