Wherever Jill Kintner goes she continues to make her case to be the best all-around mountain biker on the planet. This past weekend was no different, as she took two wins in two events at the Fox US Open in Big Bear Lake, California.
Friday night featured the Dual Slalom, where Kintner added to her successful summer of head-to-head racing that has included wins at the US Nationals and Crankworx Whistler with another top-step performance at the US Open.
“Racing slalom at Big Bear is rad and feels pretty nostalgic. It’s where it all started for me back in the NORBA days when Lopes, EC, Mike King, Missy G, Leigh D, etc. were top dogs. Stoked to see American slalom strong as ever, and the grom squad. We all raced last night well after the sun went down and couldn’t see, but it was still a blast!”
On Sunday, Jill moved over to the big bike, and took her second win of the weekend on a loose, dusty downhill track at the Snow Summit Bike Park. With a massive five-figure payday drawing in some of the top names in the sport, competition was fierce. But Jill didn’t flinch, winning the race by over 7 seconds to add to her 2019 US National DH title and her Crankworx Air-DH five-peat victory earlier in the season.
