Sam Blenkinsop’s race season kicked off this past weekend in Dunedin, New Zealand, as the Oceania Continental Championships and New Zealand National Championships were held on back-to-back days.
On Saturday, Blenki took a 3-second win, bringing home the Oceania title in a very competitive field that featured riders from both New Zealand and Australia.
One day later, Sam backed up his Oceania title by taking the win at the New Zealand National Championships, an accomplishment that previously eluded him throughout his decorated career.
“Well it’s only taking me about 13 years to get this one, but so stoked to take National Champs title this weekend at Dunedin. Thanks to everyone out there who makes this happen”
– Sam Blenkinsop
Sam will now be wearing the Continental Champion's jersey on the UCI World Cup circuit, which kicks off it's 2020 season on March 21st
