Norco team riders Jill Kintner and Sam Blenkinsop powered their 2020 Sights
across the muddy Air DH course, kicking off Crankworx Rotorua, and securing an early spot atop the Crankworx podium.
Kintner, who has returned to the tour this year after a well-deserved 2019 off, showed that reclaiming her past “Queen of Crankworx” title is well within her grasp. The course featured 32 jumps which, combined with the wet course gave her ideal conditions to beat 2nd
place Anneke Beerten by over 4 sends.
Pro Men’s DH rider Blenkinsop, just off his win at the Oceania and NZ Nationals last month, showed, while he is the veteran of the Norco Factory DH Team, that his sights are firmly set on victory in 2020. Blenki’s win topped a stacked Pro Men’s field, with the closest rider, Tomas Slavic, almost a second back.
Jill and Sam get right back at it with the Dual Slalom on Thursday. You can catch all the Crankworx Rotorua action live on RedBull TV.
